On Tuesday, May 18, Common Roots Foundation board members and other volunteers will team up with AIM Services, Inc., to create the Common Roots Community Garden at 71 Homestead Road in Saratoga Springs.
This garden will be built from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 5/18, dubbed “518 Day” by the United Way of the Greater Capital Region to promote volunteerism and community impact on that day across the region.
The Common Roots Foundation is collaborating with AIM Services, which will manage the garden, by providing Bert Weber’s expertise in horticulture, landscaping, and community gardens, as well as volunteers and a first-year sponsorship of $1000 dollars.
Volunteers are needed to help build the garden on 5/18. Lunch will be provided. Volunteers should be willing to get dirty and capable of manual labor. Since news organizations have also been invited to attend, all volunteers must consent to a media release. T-shirts available for those that pre-register. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if interested.
