What a great day! Thanks to everyone who came out to participate and support the Common Roots Foundation.

With your dedication to riding, fundraising, and spreading the word, we raised over $14,000 this year at our Third Annual Cyclothon and first-ever Hoopla Celebration! That brings our three-year total to over $41,000 raised in support of the Common Roots Foundation. What started three years ago as a humble idea has grown into something truly impactful. Thank you for keeping up the momentum!

Each year, the Common Roots Foundation hosts two grant cycles (Spring and Fall) to support local organizations advancing wellness, sustainability, and environmental stewardship initiatives. The funds you helped raise will directly empower community partners to continue this meaningful work and extend their reach to those who need it most.

We also want to give special recognition to Rachel at Kind Cycling Studio. Her positive energy, leadership, and dedication make this event possible year after year. From rallying riders and promoting the event to leading eight hours of cycling (and somehow still having energy for two more hours of hooping!), Rachel embodies the spirit of community stewardship. We are deeply thankful for her partnership.

To each of you who rode, donated, fundraised, volunteered, or cheered from the sidelines, thank you. You are the reason this event continues to grow and thrive.

With sincere appreciation,

The Common Roots Foundation Team

info for riders

As a riding participant, you’re responsible for spreading the word about your upcoming Cyclothon and encouraging friends, family, and local businesses to pledge. You’ll want to reach out to as many potential supporters as possible and provide information about where their donations are headed. Here are some helpful materials to get you started:

You should collect checks or cash from your supporters IN ADVANCE at the time the pledge is made. Riders can submit the Pledge Form and all pledge money when they arrive at the Cyclothon. We do ask that participants secure a minimum of $100 in pledges to cover our base costs.

faqs

How do the pledges work?
Supporters make a flat-rate dollar amount pledge in support of a rider. No need to keep track of mileage or time frame. The top 3 riders with the highest pledge totals win prizes!

I’m a rider. How should I collect my pledge money?
You should collect checks or cash from your supporters IN ADVANCE at the time the pledge is made. Checks can be made payable to Common Roots Foundation with Cyclothon in the memo. Cash is okay too. Be sure to keep track of all your pledges and collections on the provided Pledge Form.

What time should I get to the studio?
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your ride time to check-in at the registration table. There, you can drop off your forms and pledge money, pick up your swag bag, and find your bike assignment.

Will there be refreshments served?
Kind Cycling studio will have Gatorade and some simple refueling snacks available for riders. Bring your own water bottle to refill at the drinking fountain.

What do I get for participating?
In addition to some feel-good cycling with purpose, all participants will receive a swag bag which includes a Kind Cycling free class pass, complimentary entrance and free beer token to the Cyclothon After-Party and Hoopla at Common Roots that evening.

How does the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners work?
Once all riders have submitted their forms and pledge monies, the results will be tallied and the top 3 grossing participants will win the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes! Winners will be notified the next day to coordinate picking up their prizes.

What does the Hoopla After-Party involve?
Get ready to celebrate you and everything you do to support our community! This year, we’re kicking things up a notch with a new fun weighted hula-hooping experience and after-party at Common Roots Bierhall. Expect great music, nonstop hooping, dancing, pizza, a cash bar, and plenty of surprises still to come. The party is open to the public, so bring your friends and let’s turn the night into a full-on Hoopla!
