Join us at the Bierhall on Thursday, October 15th for a special presentation from ecologist Maria Brown as she explores the fascinating world of bats and the critical ecosystem services they provide.

Drawing on decades of field research across continents, Maria Brown brings audiences behind the scenes of real bat research—from mist netting and harp trapping in the jungle to modern bio-acoustic monitoring techniques. The presentation features photos and video of Maria in the Amazon rainforest capturing and releasing bats, offering a rare, firsthand look at how scientists study these extraordinary mammals in the field.
